This does not seem specific to a version of OpenWRT.

ssh root@i.p.add.ress

vi /etc/config/network

vi is always fun to navigate, so enjoy this!

Modify the interface (LAN) settings. Do be careful.

Save the changes.

/etc/init.d/network restart

When this is done, you should be able to exit the terminal.

exit

Now connect to the OpenWRT device through it's GUI. You may need to reset your local IP address accordingly.
